The Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service has officially launched the Ashanti GES Staff Band, marking a significant addition to the Directorate’s efforts to promote music, creativity and the arts within the education community.

The launch was held alongside the official launch of the Ashanti High Schools Music Fiesta 2026, bringing together two major initiatives aimed at celebrating musical talent and encouraging artistic expression across the Ashanti Region.

The occasion was chaired by Nana Nyarko Aboraa Sika II, Manso Nkwanta Manhemaa, whose passion for music and continued support for the arts were recognised by the organisers.

The establishment of the Ashanti GES Staff Band is expected to provide a platform for staff members with musical talent to contribute to the cultural and artistic life of the Ghana Education Service while fostering camaraderie and creativity among education personnel.

The Ashanti High Schools Music Fiesta 2026, meanwhile, is set to provide an opportunity for high school students across the region to showcase their musical abilities, creativity and appreciation of the performing arts.

The Ashanti Regional Directorate looks forward to a year of inspiring musical performances, talent development and artistic excellence as schools and education personnel participate in activities associated with the 2026 Music Fiesta.

The Directorate extends its appreciation to Nana Nyarko Aboraa Sika II and all stakeholders whose support continues to contribute to the development of music and the arts within education in the Ashanti Region.
