The Ashanti Regional Education Directorate has organised a one-day briefing session for 1,013 newly recruited Ghana Education Service (GES) staff posted to the region under the 2026 national recruitment exercise.
The session provided an opportunity to introduce the new recruits to the Service, provide guidance on their responsibilities and prepare them for their roles within schools across the region.
Addressing the new staff, the Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Dr. William Kwame Amankra Appiah encouraged them to approach their profession with humility, commitment and a willingness to learn.

The Regional Director also urged the recruits not to reject postings to rural and underserved communities, stressing that their professional services are particularly needed in areas where education personnel are in high demand.
He encouraged the new staff to embrace their postings as opportunities to serve, gain experience and contribute meaningfully to education delivery across the region.
The Head of Human Resource, Mr. Michael Osei Amanfo, welcomed the new recruits and wished them a successful and fulfilling career in the Ghana Education Service.
Other key officers of the Directorate also took turns to welcome the recruits and offer guidance and advice as they begin their careers in the Service.
