The Ashanti Regional Education Directorate welcomes all learners, teachers, headteachers and school communities as all basic schools reopen on Tuesday, 8 September 2026, for the 2026/27 academic year.
The Directorate wishes all learners, teachers and school communities within the region a safe, happy and successful academic year as teaching and learning resumes across the entire country.
According to the 2026/27 Academic Calendar for Basic Schools, the first term will run for 15 weeks, with schools scheduled to close on 17 December 2026. The first-term mid-term break is scheduled for 5 and 6 November 2026.
The second term will run from 5 January to 25 March 2027, while the third term will run from 20 April to 22 July 2027. The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is scheduled for 5–12 May 2027.
