The Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has engaged District Early Childhood Education (ECE) Coordinators across the region to review progress, share experiences and identify key challenges affecting the delivery of early childhood education.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the coordinators to discuss developments within their respective districts, exchange best practices and consider strategies for strengthening the implementation of early childhood education programmes across the Ashanti Region.
Addressing the coordinators, the Deputy Regional Education Director, Mr. Thomas Boateng, underscored the important role of Kindergarten (KG) teachers in laying a strong foundation for children’s educational development.
He emphasised that the early years of a child’s development are critical for nurturing talents, building essential skills and establishing the foundation for lifelong learning. He therefore encouraged stakeholders in early childhood education to continue working towards creating supportive and stimulating learning environments for young children.
The engagement forms part of the Directorate’s efforts to strengthen coordination and improve the quality of early childhood education delivery across the region.
Through continued collaboration among the Regional Directorate, District Education Directorates and ECE Coordinators, the Directorate seeks to promote effective practices that support the holistic development of children at the Kindergarten level
